It may be in the genes. It may be in all the other stuff that comprises a body that isn’t human … only 43% of a body’s material is human someone/s have ascertained (or decided - “the science”).

But the Stockholm-Toxoplasmosis effect surely takes “the both” to Tango. Like Master & Blaster, in Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome.

As for “the top” that is where the buck eventuates. But since, apparently, obviously, “the top” is never topped off (are those glasses 1/2 full optimistic, 1/2 empty pessimistic, or something else?), it cannot stop there. Goalposts & targets - they move.

“Chasing alpha,” right? Alpha she/males in the Paper & tails Chase (remember withering John Houseman?).

The bloom end, whether flowers or high silicic acid freshwater springs or volcanoes or the barrels of guns, are pressurized from below. From behind.

There was a good essay at LRC yesterday, or day before, by Jayant Bhandari. “Canada: The Great Replacement” Author is an Indian emigre to Canada who says he left India to get away from not tyranny & corruption pouring down from the top - but from other, merely lateral, Indians.

And/but that other Indians are among those replacing Canada (@ a wholesale rate) … & are busily recreating what they all sought, ostensibly, to leave behind in India.

The nervous system is autonomic. And “sympathetic” is misleading: it has no sympathy. And that “para” part? Pure regimented military.

You’re in the army, now. And it moves before it thinks. Then the privates & generals think up stories to explain the movement afterward.

Thus history, mythology, & The Hero’s Thousand-Faced Journey.

Janus & just a pair of forked tongues would be a piece of comparative cake … but no, so, Bye Bye Miss American Pie sings about the lie.

So sad, infuriating and true. You also touched upon the reason we are saddled with much more extreme regulation than Congress (in it wisdom) intended. When the first pass at regulation isn’t extreme enough for the “activists”, they sue (with $oro$ help). Since both sides are - just as you describe - populated (also the judge or administrative hearing officer) by “right” (actually left) thinking drones, the result is a “consent decree”, to which the extremist “parties” to the lawsuit all agree. The public, thus served (up) by their putative “servants” wind up being forced to abide by another set of extreme rules to which they never consented (or elected anyone to enact), and which, if not followed to the letter results in ruination and/or bankruptcy - and that is if the poor taxpayer “succeeds” by “winning” the lawsuit over non-compliance. Most people have no idea that this is entirely typical of the thousands of minute rules which govern every aspect of our lives. This is but a single element of what cannot go on much longer without a major disruption.

"... but not in the old way."

I couldn't agree more. Not all consistencies are foolish little mind hobgoblins - but many, if not most, of the ones that have been trained in are.

Ramius taught Tupolev everything he knows. But not everything Ramius knows. That's one level.

"We'll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false." ~ william casey (in 1981) is another level:

The "I want to believe" level. Recall the poster hanging on Fox Mulder's office wall in The X-Files.

@thewheelgun, either, despite so many of those being within the possession (said to be 9/10’s the legality, & sometimes even the law) of Stealers Wheel clowns & jokers wondering about the stairs … & there’s a woman whose sure all that glitters is gold, too ….

Symbols, like their S-sssapians’ captives, conform (of course) to hierarchy, too … & swords beaten into plowshare-symbols are near the foot of the stairs, being fondled & caressed & “brandished,” particularly it seems on the darpa amongst a segment while their possessors stare up at their bettors, who know/set the odds ~ “the house” ~ in neon Vegas, in the whitewashed one on the Potomac, wherever - all just wings of the one tall cotton plantation.

Spare the fasces rods, spoil the picaninnies. Plus, the trains (& the strains … virile virulence to get things done & solutions finalized on the Sherman-Sieg Heil line) won’t run on time.

Year 2030, looking not so different, on these rails, from year 1930, will be here before you know it.

Likewise have I been feeling my cap rise on pricked up ears due yours & Jeff’s volleying. Much enjoyed. Medicinal maybe, even. Or stimulant. Like caffeine.

I’ve been away from the net. And the Wilson, with the bloody Red Right Hand face, that’s Castaway served, back & forth. Recently opened LRC, saw Jeff’s essay, & type-fingers began to tap a little dance.

And I like seeming taller, too. Like the old days sorta; a memory. The days do get shorter, too. No forgetting that. Memento mori. Denial is something else, different; evasion, commission of omission lying.

“Orderly” is interesting. Fraught. Like, “May you lead an interesting life.” The old, & not so old, Chinese curse.

Orderlies helped out Nurse Ratched, to keep the socialist peace, so to speak. Or was that fascist? Capitalist? Populist? There were definitely punishment rods involved; some were special, called electrodes. Others were sorta like ice picks, hammered up into orbital sockets. State of the art barbarism. None of these ism’s have a monopoly on Barbary piracy. All of these ism’s are very one trick pony when it comes to barbarism disguised as civilization.

When I was in hospital - not the cuckoos nest sort - the orderlies were called “security.” And they were called to prevent my contemptuous, disgusted, leaving. Not very social at all to keep me against my will. Or competitively service-oriented, either. But six on one lil ol’ ailing me - definitely kinda populist.

Martial law, pandemic lockdowns, mail-in ballots, flash mobs just a’ lootin’ … orderly?

Populist … so who do you expect the (layers of) scapegoats to be? I can’t think of a big Pop that hasn’t had a weasel to skin & sew into stoles & slippers for their women & inner fems.

Interesting to think on how trying to be popular, to popularize, populates so much of the population, & so many of the troubles. Shall certainly never see a populism as pretty as a poplar tree.

Your attacker, deleted (but I read it before … musta landed in your inbox, yeah?) mentioned the French. Pretty good weaselgoat that one time. Until the Pops started capping each other, too.

But I’m thinking about the Andrew Jackson populism. Bust the central bank, however temporarily. Good. Populist 100 proof to “the people.” Bust the red people, too (100 proof abetted that effort, as well). Not so good. & barbarously-poorly done, to boot. Might have seemed pretty orderly … depending on whether your feet were mocassin’d, or booted.

I like, for the truthiness, Mencken when it comes to populism. Democracy. Common people & their vicarious gangsters-representatives-godfathers. Mario Puzo characters for president.

Now “capitalism.” A very popularist term. But magical in the mouths of populist babes. (That may well be redundant. Probably is.) Cuz where’s the capital? Counterfeit isn’t capital. Digicurrencies aren’t capital. Did you ever see To Live & Die In LA? “Capitalists” - & not a redeeming/redeemable character in the bunch. Just a movie? Art, to whatever extent it darkens or lights threshold, imitates life … which spends much of its timenergy looking around & imitating “other” life: monkey-see monkey-do mimeography.

Capitalism requires capital. And prices (including interest rates). And private property. And markets (the “free” prefix is redundant … cartels, etc - like orderly “healthcare”- are not markets). And competition. And one rule of law which necessarily means/has property sacrosanct at its core (what we got here is success to communicate multiple standards of legality - not the one law that applies to all). There must be risk, with consequential successes & failures. Which means moral hazard must be extirpated & never allowed: place your bets, make your efforts, but if you lose, you will not be “bailed out,” will not be bestowed a larger budget next year, will not be Peter Principle promoted. Skin in the game (Taleb) - yours. Capitalism requires people; corporations, despite color of law pronouncements contrary, are not people. Neither are sovereign immune nationstatesgovernments.

Very little of those requirements exists.

Force & fraud is criminality, not capitalism. Selling color of law to high bid of the moment is politics is the continuation of offensive war by other means is all the ism’s ilks … & is same as it has always been … so cue up the mythopoetic narrative swaddle-blankeys so everybody can be good people.

“Unknown Ideal,” that mythical capitalism, just as the Russian jewess titled one of her books.

Just like invisible, non-existent? (Virology? Pasteur?) (We Are The Bechampions does sound like a much better tune. Pasteurs ghost, & Fauci’s host, mighta had a hand in Freddie Mercury’s ghosting.) covidiousness makes a perfect boogieman scapegoat. Blame the cooties, capitalism - things that everybody knows all about, cuz literacy, education - & confirm-show ‘em artist renderings of electron microscope squiggles & data from the fed.

Less perfect, but serviceable too, stuff scarecrows with jews, Russians, islamichristians, blacks, deplorables, systemically white racists … (While stuffing the open borders with sausage-ground Camp of the Saints scraps laced with Chinese fentanyl).

So are your expectations ballistics, windage & elevation, dispassionate technical/fundamental analysis physics … or more like preferences? Is horror show national socialism good, or just another iteration of the better lesser evil groove? What’s in it for you?

The way WTC was collapsed, was managed physics, too. Before, during, & after the uncivilized fact. Some call that the corner turned. Really just acceleration, tho. Like Dealy Plaza was. Like Fort Sumpter was. Like the Aliens & Sedition Act was. Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!

Distinctions to be, would were, apprehended between “stuff happens” & “stuff done.”

Demolition isn’t collapse.Whether the data (whose?) supports it, or not.

Besides, no better data than actions.

And while past actions, performance, don’t guarantee future returns to an investment portfolio, & my mileage varies to the tunes on the radio (some being much more speed eliciting than others), liars, whether Machiavellian “smooth” or Trump coarse, can be counted on to continue being the trend that is friend only to other liars in this league of extraordinary gentlemen often referred to as “the elite.”

But as I wrote, that bloom end is pressurized from below & behind. It is the first perpetual motion (in place) machine.

Forgetting that, let alone forgiving it, is not germane. Cuz good little germans gotta be what they are. A is A. And Anaconda Anonymous doesn’t work well enough except for gov biz. The best ouroboros can do is roll over on itself, like this: ∞

Is this the whole word? : forgivendetta.

Book: Kill The Indian, Save The Man: The Genocidal Impact Of American Indian Residential Schools - Ward Churchill (an interesting name for a wannabe red man … among other recognizable aromas of “interesting” - at least according to always trustworthy wikipedia) … applies universally, not just to American indigenes.

Good line:

“… the clever

(I’m going to have to edit this out … unless you’re amenable to this change: “too clever by half” … just a small fun-taking on my part: I don’t edit other people’s work - I barely edit my own - but a good argument/ussle, or debate, is worthwhile, fun, exercise)

killing of vast hordes of people including men in their prime that outnumbered them by the hundreds of thousands and millions? Or are all civilizations ultimately ponzi structures?”

That is what I mean by “the bloom end.”

Sociopaths of the highest & best caste (just ask them, or their fawns) outnumbered many millions to one … supposedly.*

Outnumbered by the populous/populist & so better angels of our nature ~ Pinker’s* title ~ via that pomp & circumstance utilitarian headcount procedure that can’t not arrive at the truth of matters.

(The Better Angels of Our Nature: Why Violence Has Declined (2011) - Steven Pinker. I almost never don’t finish, but I had to put this one down. “Data” & the stuff that can get up to, or be used by those getting up to. Pinker may have Barbie-pink eye (call it a kind of rose-tinted lens) if he believes his thesis).

Better because “might makes right,” say the Benthamites, & the democrats & the Huns & well, just about “everybody” in the big bodies politic of their happenstance affinities.

The popular misperception that “shit rolls downhill.” Because, obviously, shit rolls uphill. And gets bigger as it goes.

(Camus was cool, but there is more in heaven & earth than French, or even Algerian, existentialists dreamt of. & he & his Sisyphus missed some.)

Or, if preferred, the scum that finds itself (the generational, dynastic, born-to-it … & the more nouveau riche, too) floating atop the swamp water is suspended there only at waters’ approving discretion.

(The “approval” is in the action, net-net. Grumbling & carping & kvetching - even beautifully on the darpa/gill/net is all above that bottom line. “We” likes it just fine. Not 24k fine. Gold’ish plated fine feels good enough for the Bobby McGee we’s.

But I don’t like it. )

*Supposedly because, also obviously, these “two” are not contenders in the ring (or for The One True Ring). These two are in cahoots. Dynamical collusion. Quid pro quo. People go to the dance because they want to be led, or lead (quote lock both of those positions) around the floor.

Did you ever see They Shoot Horses, Don’t They? People talk about predictive programming & sure, why not. But description comes before prediction, even in the dictionary.

So. The bloom end, whether flowers or high silicic acid freshwater

(There is a guy, Exley, who has made a career study of aluminum, which apparently does no bodies good, & he says he has discovered that waters rich in silicic acid, consumed daily, will chelate-for-excretion aluminum from your body

- *your* body, not the animal husbandrymens’ livestock on the hoof you say forms the basis of Its-Your-World-Boss-I-Just-Live-In-It “natural law.”)

springs or volcanoes or the barrels of guns, are pressurized from below. From behind.

“Power” to the people. Of/by/for/from “the people.” Aka The Borg. Or The Matrix. Or “I’m an American/ode - give me Pie!”

Well, first, & despite all my playing around with words & “the rules” seeming to offer latitude & undefended flank attack opportunities (to the less playful, lets put it) … empires are separate & distinct from, not synonymous with, civility & thus civilization.

No mere aside: I have known vanishingly few civilized people.

Another: domestication is not civility. Servility?

(Smoke & stardust get in eyes & words get in the way mostly for most. Language is in bondage, mostly, to deception, deceit, self-deception first, second - projection, which is also the backside of monkey see monkey do - of others.)

Those gangsters you cite that lived & died by “the gun” weren’t the victims of cycles a la “the 4th turning,” Kondratieff-Elliott-Fibonacci waves, ice age & warm period sunspot cycling. They were just more of the same Hell’s Angels cyclists bombing down the road, helmetless (or helmets full of lies, FOS), & it was always just a matter of time - same as now.

Self/other destruction isn’t “collapse.” Neither are murder/suicide pacts - whether two “we’s” or Jonestown “we’s” or global village “we’s.”

Did you see Fight Club?

Charting has its place. Studious, conscientious, charting too.

But symbolic representations, other tools too, are not the thing itself being charted/tooled. And the love affair, compulsion, with forgetting that is part of how the tool wielders Sisyphus-slip into becoming tools wielded “by their tools.”

John Henry was a steel driving man, Hell On Wheels (constituencies exist to be conned - “build” that transcontinental RR {roman road}, exterminate the bison, Final Solution™ the red people cluttering up our blue states … was a pretty good TV series about that terrible time) with a hammer, so the world was his & the rail spikes (or star drills … which I’ve worked, as a lad) just lived in it.

John Henry “over-identified” with “his tool” & that’s how he killed himself. (Go with the myth, forget about silicosis, if that’s what it was - even if it adds up, or subtracts, the same. Sell the rumor & buy the fact … of it … not the symbols/tools of it.)

“This is my rifle, this is my gun, this is for fighting, this is for fun.” ~ Full Metal Jacket … Rifleman’s Creed … but my Marine Corp money is on War Is A Racket Smedley Butler

“They call this war a cloud over the land. But they made the weather and then they stand in the rain and say 'Shit, it's raining!’” ~ Cold Mountain. The Ruby Thewes character.

Cannibal CAFO’s are not civilization. (Growing beef, etc, that way isn’t, either.)

Dystopia is not civilization.

Yeah, Ponzi. Robbing Peter to pay Paul. That’s not civilized, either. No public admission necessary or required. Prima facie.

“…they’ll probably die too….”

Not dissident, or dissonant, to reply “everybody does.”

Or that there is more than a little something-something to death wish - death instinct ideas. Some kind of survivor guilt writ large. I won the lotto so let me-we-us set about destroying myself & the village to save it from … something.

The sapiens (so-called) sappers are inside the wire. Always.
