“The Guardian” is a dead giveaway.

After The Red Wedding, House Bolton becomes the ruling house of the North. The Bolton sigil consists of a flayed man upside-down, his flayed skin forming a white, X-shaped cross behind him, over a field of black. Their house words are “Our blades are sharp.” Their other credo is “A naked man has few secrets; a flayed man, none.”

There have been many Red Weddings, a continuous succession of them:

“We are grateful to the Washington Post, the New York Times, Time Magazine and other great publications whose directors have attended our meetings and respected their promises of discretion for almost 40 years......It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subjected to the lights of publicity during those years. But, the world is more sophisticated and prepared to march towards a world government. The supernational sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the national autodetermination practiced in past centuries.” ― David Rockefeller

North (up … elevated) is where the head/waters are. Until the flayers do their thing:

“We’ll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false.” William Casey, CIA Director (from first staff meeting in 1981)

S/words is why the Prussian training technic (called “public education”) was imported. The people need to be able to read, but not comprehend, if they are to be flayed as effectively & efficiently as possible.

So, Ramsay Bolton dispatch-parricides Roose Bolton with a dagger to take the crown. And eventually, the feral “guardian”-hunting dogs that he fed so many people to fed themselves with him. Not that that bit of justice put an end to the Game of Thrones.

And DeepMind Your Own Business will never be, either. There’s not enough depth of mind to even know, or accept, what that is, what the prerogatives are. People, in the main, just wanna flay, & be flayed.

This Bolton cover is overwrought. Like humanimal history, in all its tenses. “Looks like nuthin’s gonna change …”

Thanks to both Andy and reante for this round. I agree that the one-world forces of globalization are in systemic collapse (why I hold out Africa as the last cultural frontier and civilizational hope). Digital media and biogenetics and AI are the last-gasp technologies of a desperate elite, far too busy consolidating power and wealth on the way down to manage anything effectively en route. Ideology supplants managerial competency once the narrative disappears and all that remains is power.

Unfortunately, each of the mother technologies mentioned above are also massive vehicles of institutional power, and those institutions most empowered by them will likely require at least a generation or two to unwind, assuming we survive them. Hence my response for now: the Quality of Life Resistance Movement, regressive populism focused on meaningful ritual and local autonomy.

Thanks again, guys. Always a pleasure.

At your service, reante. So glad to hear that your efforts to impose austerity have paid off in such rewarding fashion. The quality of life stands in direct relationship to the rituals -- meaningful or mindless -- that arbitrage our time and resources. The sheer excess and abject self-indulgence of today's 'normal' lifestyle would have seemed nothing short of madness just a few generations ago. Of course, you don't have to scratch very hard to uncover the distinction between quality and expedience.. Keep up the good work!

Thanks, reante. Nice to be wanted (but not in twelve states). I agree that global economic growth ended in the first decade of the 21st century, the exact decade -- perhaps not so coincidentally -- that our technology turned from progressive to regressive per Marshall McLuhan's Law of Reverse: when complex systems pushed to extreme begin to push back. The net effect of digital scale.

The Guardian and The New York Times and The Washington Post and cable TV and commercial media at large are just the face-forward component of digital technology where the transition from progressive to regressive in the penumbra of digital scale is most noticeable. The same progress/regress cycle (only much accelerated) has already afflicted the largest commercial online media franchises -- what I call the technomedia cartel (drug dealers by any other name) -- and likely awaits the current crop of media outliers driven by outsized personalities (Joe Rogan, Russell Brand, Patrick Bet-David, Jordan Peterson, et al) who, I suspect, still view digital technology as a democratizing and liberating force.

We see the same effect of runaway digital scale in the maturation of the surveillance state and addiction as default states, now the rules rather than the exceptions, in the same decade. Both are manifestations of unmanageable complexity (a favorite bogeyman of AA), and thereby utterly unaccountable: the primary attribute of brute power -- what happens when the narrative breaks down and is no longer necessary to sustain the illusion.

Culture is being red-pilled now because of the collapse of the progressive blue-pill narrative, per your observation. Again in line with my observation that all cultures eventually resolve center-right -- in self-defense if nothing else. In the end, our egos may be the only things truly liberated by the technologies of digital scale.

Thanks again.

Put enough ticks on a cat & even 9 lives end.

You said you watched Sopranos. I watched some of it. The restaurant that Tony "helped out." Right into the ground, wasn't it?

Economic growth has been subverted by the sucking counterfeit/icks. Blood slurped out & replaced with central bank fiat spit.
