How to Use My Ritual Inventory
The restoration of meaningful ritual as the key to moderation and the quality of life...
“Focus on what you have, not on what you don’t have. Make a list of ten things you are grateful for in your life and read the list aloud. Then read it each morning for the next thirty days. If you don’t appreciate what you’ve got, you won’t get anymore and you don’t need anymore.“ – T. Harv Eker
Welcome to My Ritual Inventory, a simple and proven variation on the theme mentioned by Mr. Eker above. First designed and created back in 1996 at the height of the Dot Com Era, My Ritual Inventory invokes gratitude as the first step in the gradual replacement of the mindless rituals invoked by our default meta-addiction to all things media and all things digital with more meaningful ritual — the key to lifestyle moderation. It’s about invoking gratitude as a moderating agent in what I call the Great Age of Addiction, about gently nudging closer to the center of The Human Centrifuge and farther away from life on the edge. My Ritual Inventory will put first things first each time you invoke it. It will right your thoughts and clear your mind – at least for a little while.
If you haven’t already done so, now would be a good time to check out my essay, Intro to My Ritual Inventory, where you’ll find the essential theory behind this enlightening tool.
